Norma Brinkley-Staley5 days agoI had to clean the linens in my whole house and my washer broke down. I haven't been to the Mt Airy Laundromat since it was renovated. I was so impressed. I was able to do everything in their super large washers and dryers at the same time. It would have taken me a week to do this much laundry at home. I did it there in a little more than 2 hours. The staff were so helpful advising me how to operate the large and powerful machines how much detergent to use and how to load the machines. The facility was very clean and the equipment rather quiet considering how many were operating at the same time and how large they were. The attendant checked on me frequently to check my progress. Very nice people and they always have someone here so you dont have to worry about something not working or not able to get what you need. They sell laundry bags of great quality and dryer sheets. Lynn A.149 days agoI am not usually in Mount Airy but had to be there for something else, and remembered that there was a laundromat. I was so pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Parking is somewhat limited but I found a spot right away. I doubt the lot fills completely, and there is also a handicap spot right next to the door. The entrance is easy to find, and was greeted with the smell of fresh laundry and a big helpful hello by Priscilla, the employee. She talked and walked me through the process, and got me all set up. They sell laundry detergent by the pod, if you need it. There are plenty of large rolling baskets, and also plenty of table space for folding. The floor is clean slate tile, nicely done. Apparently you can use their laundry service, they will wash, dry and fold your clothes for you for a reasonable rate. You don't use coins for the machines, you have to use a laundry card, which they sell at a self-serve kiosk that takes cash or credit cards.Posted on Google

Updated machines, lots of size options, well kept and clean. However, they are significantly pricier than other laundromats I've been to. The smallest washer is $4.50 per load but doesn't fit much so realistically you would need to pay $9 to wash a normal size load of laundry, and about $3-4 for the dryer. The reloadable cards that are needed to use the machines cost $1, and you can buy detergent pods for $1-2.Posted on Google

Always helpful to all the customers, VERY knowledgeable ive noticed to those be that are not sure how to load there card(s) , she hops right into sharing her knowledge explaining how to do so aswell as being very friendly to everyone! She is always not stop moving , cleaning, getting all clients clothes done thoroughly and answering all questions clients may have. The attendant walked me through each step of how the process works as far as payment goes because it is different than how it used to be. Very streamlined and very efficient! And she did a phenomenal job helping me get set up! I love that they have a laundry card now that you just load money on and you can use it whenever you want. No more need for rolls of quarters! The machines were so awesome and the time it takes to wash clothes is half the time as a normal washer which was a huge time saver. Nichole430 days agoWe are traveling and visiting family in Damascus, Maryland. My mother-in-law recommended this laundry mat, it is very clean, and friendly staff! I walked in to wash all of my bedding, including all of my pillows. I have a seven week old that was strapped to me, and Priscilla jumped it right away to help me with everything. She helped me load five washers, and then also help me move them into the dryer back into my bags and help me load the car. It was the best experience Iāve ever had in a laundry mat. I came to wash a blanket and it went pretty smoothly. I couldn't find the place until I figured out the location was wrong in Google Maps. I figured it would be packed since it's 9am on a Saturday. IT WAS AWESOME. Just a handful of people there. Charlie (the laundro- guru who works there) was so awesome. We exchanged my money for quarters and I hunkered down while my clothes were getting washed. One of my washers wasn't latched properly and the door opened and soapy water went everywhere. Charlie jumped right on it and started throwing old towels down to sop up the mess. Together we managed to give the floors a nice cleaning. Even though I nearly flooded the place, Charlie was so wonderfully pleasant about the rookie mistake I made and even asked that I visit again sometime soon. Krystale Powers1666 days agoOur dryer broke and have been going here since. It's actually turned into quite the chill experience. Might never go back to home washing. Clean place, not too crowded, friendly down to Earth staff. Regular washers $2.75 about 30mins. Huge one is now $7.75 and smaller ones $3.50. Dryers big boys .50c for 5 minutes and smaller dryers .25c for 5. About 30 minutes to dry average load so about $1.50-$3. It's takes about $20/30 bucks to do all our laundry but that's bedding, towels, and clothes for a household of 3 adults and a kid for about a month. If you run out of parking space or laundry soap the Walmart has your back. They offer a service to wash and dry your clothes but it's by the pound. I'd never imagined my 8 year old daughters new favorite place to go is the laundry but she loves it. Loading, unloading, and folding makes her feel so happy to be a part of helping and the tables, front load washers, and lower dryers are right at her size. It's oddly satisfying to sit and watch them spin. Only downside is there are 3 plastic orange chairs by the door so if you really need to sit I'd recommend bringing a modest folding chair. Spider Monkey1699 days agoNice laundromat, a lot of laundry machines varying in size small 2.75 and large almost 8 but take a heafty load, big dryer 50 cents per 5 min normal 25 per 5. The staff are cool and helpful š. Not a lot people on a Saturday, no drama. I am sure you can put in a load and go nab some food and come back with no stealing clothes.+0Posted on Google

If you have 4 load to do it will cost around $10 or so. I take my big big loads up there like all the blankets. Thank you guysPosted on Google

Dollface3398 days agoFor the most part the facility is clean, the person on staff is usually pleasant, and the prices are competitive. They don't open till 9am M-Thu, so don't go by the Google hours listed if you search for this laundromat.Posted on Google
